Andrea's Art Studio

The Client

     Andrea Crowell is a local artist residing in Victoria, British Columbia. Her work is made up of watercolour and acrylic paintings on an assortment of mediums, such as canvas, cork, and rocks. Andrea's work can be found in different cafes around the Greater Victoria Area.

The Project

     Andrea approached me to photograph her work at her first gallery featured in QV Coffee Shop. Being one of the first opportunities to display her art, she asked me to get some photographs for her website and social media to promote the gallery and set up a point of sales. She wanted very basic professional photographs for her website that featured the art, the name, and the price.  ​

The Result

      For the website shots, I  tried to use the rule of thirds to center the artwork in the frame of the shot. These pictures were shot face-on with my Canon T5 and used a tripod for stability. 

     I was able to be a little more creative with the social media shots and played around with depth of field and the different ways I could show off the placement of the pieces in the coffee shop.
